Sage Park Builders Club Winter Gear Collection - 02/05/2018

The Sage Park Builders Club conducted a successful Winter Gear Collection. 277 articles of clothing were collected.  The clothing will be donated to te Salvation Army. Pictured are Builders Club members.

Kiwanis and Students Visit Kimberly Hall - 12/24/2017

Members of the Kiwanis and students from the school's Leaders and Builders clubs visited Kimberly Hall  nursing home. The members roamed the halls singing Christmas carols for the residents.

Kiwanis Adds New Member - 11/16/2017

K Kid Works at Poll Election Day - 11/10/2017

This news from member Lisa Atwood: As I was exiting the polls yesterday, I stopped to pick up some delicious treats that were being sold.  James Overbaugh, one of our K Kids, was volunteering at the polls and was more than happy to pose for a picture next to the sign he made.  See attached.  Several of the K Kids had made the signs. 


Bead Maze Donated to the Library - 11/07/2017

The Kiwanis club of Windsor donated a Bead Maze to the library. The gift is in memory of Kiwanis member Nellie Mason Holmes. The Bead Maze can be found in the children's area of the library.

Buddy Bench Dedicated - 10/31/2017

The Buddy Bench at Clover Street School was dedicted today. The Kiwanis and Rotary clubs each donated 1000.00 to purchase benches that will be installed at four Windsor schools. The buddy bench is a simple idea to eliminate loneliness and foster friendship on the playground. The purpose of the Buddy Bench is to eliminate lonliness out at recess by inviting those students who do not have someone to play with, to sit on the bench. Others playing, notice if someone is on the bench and then will go invite that child to play with him/her.

D'Agatas Named Co Kiwanians of the Year - 10/06/2017

John and Margie D'Agata were recognized for their contributions to the club and community by being named co-recipients of the Kiwanian of the year award. Marge and Jon have been involved withe SAT Breakfast, the golf tournament, the benches on the Green and many other club activities. Congratulations to Margie and John.

Kiwanis Canoe Race 2017 - 10/03/2017

The thirteenth annual Kiwanis Canoe Race was held on October 1 on the Green in Windsor. The Canoe Race collects food and cash that benefits the Windsor Food and Fuel Banks. This year’s collection netted 2500 pounds of food and $5,600 in cash. The Windsor Kiwanis, Windsor Women’s Club, Boy Scout Troop 149, Cub Pack 149 and the Town of Windsor Employees all participated into the collection. In addition Kiwanis Student Leadership Programs (SLP) from the Clover Street, JFK and Sage Park schools also  participated.  The Windsor Women’s Club was awarded the Best Dressed canoe. The Kiwanis SLPs contributed the most food. The Town employees had the largest combined...

Kiwanis Donate Backpacks - 08/31/2017

In preparation for the start of another school year members of the Kiwanis prepared backpacks for students attending Windsor schools. Each backpack was filled with needed school supplies. One hundred packs were prepared for older students and fifty packs for elementary students. Pictured are Kiwanis members packing backpacks with school supplies. 

Kiwanis Donate Benches for Windsor Green - 08/18/2017

As part of its 50th Anniversary celebration the Kiwanis Club of Windsor donated two benches to the Town of Windsor.  The benches are located on the north green in Windsor. The benches were provided by and installed by club member John D’Agata of D’Agata Granite. 
The Kiwanis Club of Windsor, CT is a service organization comprised of caring men and women from all walks of life. Our objective is to bring aid to children in need. The majority of our efforts benefit children in this community. The Kiwanis Club of Windsor has been actively involved in the Town of Windsor for over 50 years giving out over $90,000 worth of scholarships to Windsor High School Students.
